Reporting a problem
Three things make a report much easier to act on:
- What you did, what you expected, and what happened instead.
- Your phone model and Android version.
- Your UID — open the game, tap Settings, and it is shown at the bottom of the screen.
A screenshot is worth more than a paragraph, if you can take one.
Common questions
I lost my progress
Hamstar saves progress on your device only, so clearing the app's data or uninstalling it removes that progress permanently. We cannot restore it, because we never had a copy — there is no account and no server. We are sorry; that is the honest answer.
Where are the other players on the leaderboard?
There are none, and the screen says so. The board ranks your own days against each other: today's score against your best days. Ranking against other players needs a server we do not run yet. When it exists, we will say so plainly.
I ran out of magnifiers and hints
You get more by playing on consecutive days — finish a board and the daily gift arrives. Every third day of a streak gives more.
Can I turn off vibration or sound?
Yes, both, in Settings.
Does the game need internet?
Not to play. Every board, hint and score works with the phone in flight mode. The only thing that needs a connection is fetching an advert to watch — and if there is no connection, that button simply is not shown.
Why does the game show adverts now?
One advert, and only when you choose it: after losing a board, you may be offered a video to watch in order to carry on. There are none between boards and none on the menu.
The adverts come from Google, which receives data about your device to choose them. Our privacy policy lists exactly what is sent, and how to reset or delete the advertising ID it uses.
